Dodge today announced a new software upgrade for certain Challengers and Chargers that will add an extra layer of security meant to deter reckless joyrides and theft.

The upgrade, available free of charge on any 2015 or newer Dodge Challenger or Charger equipped with either the 392 cubic-inch Hemi V-8 or the 6.2-liter supercharged V-8, adds a new double-verification security system that can be customized by the owner.
