Someone has wrecked another of the limited-run Dodge Demon 170 muscle cars. Pictures of the aftermath of the accident, which shows the passenger side of the vehicle caved in, have been circulating like wildfire through car circles on the internet as people are shocked by the images.
This suspect demonstrates how Chevy Suburbans are indeed built like tanks.
With only 3,300 Demon 170s made, it’s sad to see one likely totaled. Sure, that’s not as limited a production run as many supercars and other more exotic vehicles, but for muscle car fans it’s a big deal.
At least the driver apparently walked away unscathed. We can’t imagine many classic muscle cars in the same situation would’ve protected the driver so well. So there’s the silver lining on the cloud.
Car YouTuber OCMotivator shared a Facebook screen capture of someone posting about the crash. That individual claims to be the owner and the driver at the time of the accident. The post says another vehicle ran a red light and T-boned the Mopar muscle car, which seems consistent with the damage.
That person also claims this was car #2,234. Perhaps we’ll see it being sold through Copart or one of its competitors in the near future.
As many have pointed out, the front end of the Demon 170 looks relatively untouched. That means the coveted engine could likely be just fine, along with the transmission and other running gear. Quite a few mad scientists are interested in transplanting the powertrain into a different vehicle, which honestly could be really cool.
When life gives you lemons, making lemonade can be one of the best things to do.
In the meantime, all the other Demon 170s just became a little rarer. We’re sure more will be wrecked in the future, whittling the pool down further.
