Stolen Dodge Challenger Scat Pack Battles Georgia Cops

A stolen Dodge Challenger Scat Pack wearing a plate from a stolen Dodge Charger caught the attention of Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, leading to quite the chase. While the suspect was able to smoke a member of the BAT Unit, he later ran across a deputy from the Cobra Unit and the outcome wasn’t quite so favorable.

A Florida man learned the hard way that impersonating a cop is illegal.

It’s not every day we see a legitimate police chase where a suspect is in a genuinely fast car and is reasonably competent behind the wheel. But we get that unique combination in this pursuit and the result is something better than any Fast and Furious movie.

There’s no denying this suspect has moves. He does a good job of trying to fake out his pursuers at intersections, even though the cops don’t take the bait, but that’s only because they’re well-trained. He also clearly knows how to whip through turns, and you can even see this guy clear intersections before blowing through red lights.

Those skills combined with the Scat Pack’s superior performance allows this guy to finally put enough distance between him and the BAT Unit member, plus take enough turns to get away. It’s an impressive feat, but with other members of law enforcement on high alert, his respite doesn’t last long.

When the deputy from the Cobra Unit starts pursuing this Scat Pack, the suspect drops some of the fanciness and seems to lean more into the brute force of the muscle car. As the chase stretches on, the Mopar slows down and we see why the driver has changed his style: one of the tires is damaged and deflated.

As the deputy runs down the hobbled Challenger, our suspect decides his personal athleticism is superior. A taser deployment levels that playing field in a hurry, ending what was admittedly an impressive, albeit flawed, escape attempt.
