Snow and rain wiped away all of the scheduled baseball and softball games in the Greater Akron area on Monday.

Inclement weather did not sideline the St. Vincent-St. Mary baseball team, which was able to play two games Monday during its Spring Break trip at the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

STVM (8-2) won both games, defeating Carvers Bay (South Carolina) 15-0 and Hilton (New York) 4-3. The victories came after STVM topped Girard (Pennsylvania) 12-2 Saturday in its first game in the Cal Ripken Experience.

Irish pitcher Nick Cody limited Carvers Bay (7-6) to one hit in a five-inning shutout in Monday's opener. Michael Bronowski hit a grand slam home run, walked three times and scored four runs.
