2015 Subaru BRZ

Up to 22 MPG city / 30 MPG hwy
$25,695 - $29,490

Few cars have given its drivers more pleasure in the last year than the BRZ, a truly groundbreaking vehicle that's created a whole new category of vehicle: The People's Sports Car. Developed in conjunction with Scion, whose sister vehicle, the FR-S, is almost exactly the same, the BRZ drives fast, aggressive, and rough, a zippy pocket rocket that gets decent gas mileage, too. The BRZ moves around curves like a go-cart and you can park it on a dime. It doesn't have a ton of horsepower, but it's also extremely light, so it doesn't need much of a boost. The exterior styling is slick and cute. Inside, it doesn't feel fancy, but everything is done up in low-fi modern carbon fibers that perfectly fit the car's retro-modern vibe. The car is also an IIHS top safety pick, extremely rare for a sports car, and it's inexpensive, though an automatic transmission runs about $1,000 more. If this is a car you can get for around $25,000, then the future looks good for the middle-class enthusiast. See more... See Less
