Swimming Ford Mustang Clips Off A Side Mirror

Swimming, or driving rapidly through slow traffic on the highway while weaving around, is a popular activity among some really dumb enthusiasts. It’s about as bad as street takeovers and street racing because swimming involves getting dangerously close to other cars while going well above the speed limit. Plus, it can lead to situations like this hit-and-run accident involving a Ford Mustang in the Fresno, California area.
Watch a notorious carjacking gang get cornered by police.
While the little pony didn’t outright hit another car, it did cut between two vehicles so closely the Ford sheered off the side mirror on one. That qualifies the incident as a hit-and-run accident.
Fortunately, a car’s dashcam caught the whole thing, providing authorities with the evidence needed to go after the Mustang driver. Now they’re trying to figure out who that is before dropping the hammer of justice on the suspect.
The dashcam not only captured the Mustang’s license plate, it reveals the suspect was running a 360 degree camera on the back of the pony car, so the suspect might have been recording footage to show off on social media later.
So many times, we see these types of guys post their illegal acts online and brag about them as if cops and other authorities don’t know how to use social media. That’s a foolish thing to do, but so is swimming on the highway.
We’ve seen some bad accidents result from this dangerous practice. When you’re traveling at such high speeds, making sudden moves and squeezing between cars which are traveling much slower, there’s bound to be mistakes. With little room for error, the likelihood the result will be a bad collision is high.
If you’re looking for a thrill, going swimming on the highway while recording your run isn’t the way to do it. Get into racing on a drag strip or road course, it makes for a better time.
