There's a 115-HP, GSX-R-Powered Golf Cart for Sale on eBay

From Road & Track

Sometimes, you see an idea that is so unreasonably dangerous, you can't help but applaud the loon who first thought it up. This, a golf cart with a 115-HP inline-four from a Suzuki GSX-R600 sportbike, is a perfect example of such lunacy. If you have $5000 and a total lack of self-preservation, it can be yours to own.

A man just listed this death-cart on eBay because he wanted to "[sell] it before I kill myself in it ." It started life as a 1986 EZ-Go Marathon, but at some point, someone decided it was a good idea to install the motor from a sportbike right under the seat. The seller doesn't know who did the work but notes it was done to a high standard of quality.

It has a clutch pedal like a car, but the shifter for the six-speed gearbox is push right to upshift, push left to downshift, with no reverse. The cart has been lifted and sits on a set of 16-inch, four-lug Honda wheels. The gauge cluster from the Suzuki bike is mounted on the dashboard. The brakes "aren't great."

Driving dynamics are, well, I'll just let the seller describe them:

"This thing is not the most stable vehicle in the world and it will go a lot faster than you will have the nerve to drive it. On the street it gets pretty nervous above about 30 mph. I'm pretty stupid and this thing scares the crap out of me."

In addition, this cart doesn't have a title, but the seller says he'll provide a bill of sale. He's also included a video of him driving it around a field. It's, uh, a little loud.

Perhaps if you fit a roll cage, bucket seats, and a harness, this could be good fun on a dirt course. Otherwise, exercise extreme caution behind the wheel. At the time of writing, the bidding hasn't passed the $1000 reserve, but if you absolutely want this thing now, a $5000 buy-it-now could make it yours.
