Browse around the listings of Vantage Auto, a high-end used car dealership in Moonachie, New Jersey, and you'll find a 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8 listed for sale for $79,990. That price may seem high — until you realize that this car has only one single mile on the odometer. There's a good chance this is, the best preserved example of this particular muscle car in the world.

When looking for collectible or exotic cars, it's not uncommon to find examples with extremely low miles — but even by those standards, one single mile is all but unheard of. According to the dealer's listing, when it was first purchased, the car was rolled off the delivery truck and onto a flatbed truck; from there it was transported to a climate-controlled garage.

Now, you might think based on the mileage that it's been sitting in the same garage all this time, but you'd be wrong. What makes the story of this 1-mile Challenger even more astounding is that according to the Carfax vehicle history report, the car has had three previous owners. The car has spent time in Ohio, New York, and Virginia over its 15-year life. So, the car has covered some miles — just in transport trucks, rather than on its own wheels.

The Challenger was optioned with Hemi Orange Pearl Coat paint and a six-speed manual transmission. 3-season performance tires are the only other option. With the gas guzzler tax and destination charge, the car stickered for $42,640 in 2009, which means the current asking price is nearly double that amount.

Still, when adjusted for inflation and combined with the costs of transportation and storage, nobody likely got rich by parking this car and waiting for it to accumulate value. That said, with such a pristine service history, it's well-suited for a new collector to swoop in and keep it parked for another few decades before rolling it out for Monterey Car Week or another high-end automotive event.
