Thieves Crawl Right Past a Dodge Viper to Steal Three Challenger Hellcats at Dealer
Car thieves hit an Ohio car dealership this week and managed to get away with three Dodge Challenger Hellcats. The cars were driven right off the lot after the suspects located the keys inside the showroom. A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and recovery of the vehicles, per the dealership.
The robbery took place around 5 a.m. on Wednesday at Wally Armour Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram in Alliance, Ohio, according to Fox 8. Security cameras captured four individuals breaking into the dealership and later driving off with the cars. Footage shows the criminals crawling on their hands and knees right past what appears to be a Snakeskin Green fourth-generation Dodge Viper. This V10-powered Viper can be worth over $80,000 but it was not the Viper the thieves were after. Or perhaps they just couldn't drive a manual transmission.
After a bit of searching, the crew eventually found the keys to the Challenger Hellcats that they wanted. They then located the Hellcats parked in the lot outside. The dealership is aware that these cars are valuable and popular with thieves. So, they blocked them in with some Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs. However, these two-and-a-quarter-ton roadblocks proved to be no match for the muscle cars and their 800-horsepower powertrains. The thieves simply used the Hellcats to push the Jeeps out of the way.
A fourth Hellcat was left behind, however, the key to the fourth car was stolen and the GPS tracker was removed. As it is, the crew got away with three cars worth nearly $300,000. If you have any information regarding the theft, the dealership is asking that you contact them at stolenvehicle@wallyarmour.com.
