Yahoo Autos Toto Wolff Wants To Cut Off the Halo

Halo Hate
On one hand, the halo is a long awaited first step to enact some head protection for Formula One drivers, hopefully ending the chance of drivers getting hit with a large object. On the other hand, it's ugly. So ugly that a number of drivers would rather face the risk of head injury instead of looking at it.
It's also so ugly that Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff wants to cut it off with a chainsaw because it's not aesthetically pleasing. Of course, he also says he wants head protection for his drivers, but he wants it to look good. Perhaps F1 should study the screen that IndyCar is working on a little closer.
Tesla's Charging Catch
One of the biggest advantages of an electric car is that you can refuel anywhere there's a plug. Of course, the preference is to use a real fast-charging station, something most offices don't have. Tesla wants to change that, but there is a catch, or two.
First, while Tesla will install them for free, but the energy expense would be the responsibility of the "qualified company" Tesla selected. Second? If you drive an electric car that isn't a Tesla, the chargers won't work for your car. Tough luck, Chevy Bolt owners.
TK Is Back
Tony Kanaan left Chip Ganassi's IndyCar team for AJ Foyt Racing in 2018, but he's sticking with CGR for the biggest endurance race in the world. Kanaan will be back at Le Mans with the team in one of its four Ford GTs. He'll be in one of the cars run by the UK squad, driving alongside Harry Tincknell and Andy Priaulx.
