The Toyota 4Runner Has a New Ultra-Rad 40th-Anniversary Special Edition

It seems like the 4Runner has been around forever. From the simple boxiness of the first to the unkillable third-gen and the ever-growing sales of the current model, the 4Runner has been a fixture of the enthusiast truck community for years. Forty years, to be specific, so Toyota is celebrating the big birthday with a new special edition.

The 2023 4Runner 40th Anniversary Special Edition is based on the 2023 4Runner SR5, with unique tricolor stripes and bronze wheels. Available in red, black, or white, the 40th Anniversary gets the TRD Pro's crossbar grille with "Toyota" spelled out. A tricolor flair alongside it and a "40th" badge out back complete the look.

Inside, you get a few Bronze accents, unique stitching, and a badge commemorating that yours is one of 4040 4Runner 40th Anniversary Special Editions. We don't know how much it'll cost or when you can get your hands on one, but given how hot the 4Runner market is these days we wouldn't be surprised to see substantial markups when these get to dealers.
