Like Nissan, Toyota has actually been making trucks for several decades. Until the last decade or so, Toyota stuck mostly to compact trucks and offered no full-sized competition to the domestic workhorses from manufacturers like Ford and Chevy. While there are no 6.7-liter turbo diesels sitting alongside
a fleet of Prii at the dealership, Toyota does offer two rough and tumble trucks to handle most civilian work.
Although the Tundra doesn't come with six wheels or 800 lb.-ft. of torque, it does offer three different body/cab configurations and a capable 5.7-liter V-8 good for towing up to 10,000 lbs. The smaller Tacoma is better suited to camping excursions and hunting adventures than routine trips to the quarry, but its 4.0-liter V-6 still packs plenty of grunt when a task arises. See more...
