Ty Dillon Lands Another NASCAR Cup Ride
Kaulig Racing announced they will field one car in 2025, and Ty Dillon will return to the NASCAR Cup Series. Dillon, the grandson of Richard Childress, lost his Cup ride with Spire Motorsports after. The 2022 season and has spent the 2024 season in the Truck Series, making six Cup starts for three teams, including three starts with Kaulig Racing.
"I am incredibly grateful for another opportunity to run full-time in the Cup Series, and to be able to do it with the men and women at Kaulig Racing means a lot to me personally," said Dillon. "They gave me a chance this year to go out and prove myself in a handful of starts. The team and I were able to connect early on and we put together a few strong runs in the No. 16. I’m really looking forward to what 2025 brings with this team. We have a bright future ahead of us and we’re going to give it our all each and every race next season."
Dillon replaces Daniel Hemric, who was promoted to full-time with Kaulig this year after a nine-race stint in 2023. Hemric has yet to secure a full-time ride for the 2025 season but aims to race on Sundays.
Kaulig is releasing the rights to the No. 31 at the end of the 2024 season and will run the No. 10 for Dillon.
"We’re excited to be able to acquire the rights of the No. 10 for the 2025 Cup Series season," said Chris Rice, president of Kaulig Racing. "When we decided to move to the Cup series, the number was not available, so we are looking forward to having familiarity and synergy across both series with the Nos. 10 and 16."
Kaulig runs the No. 10 and 16 in the Xfinity Series.
"I’m focused and full of intention to finish the last 7 races of this season as strong as we can while continuing to build on whatever the next chapter of this journey holds for me," Hemric said in a social media post.
Hemric has a best finish of ninth this season, where he's finished four times. This weekend, both Hemric and Dillon will race for Kaulig at Kansas Speedway as the NASCAR Cup series enters the second round of the playoffs.
Dillon's last top ten in the Cup Series came in 2022 at the Bristol Dirt Race.
