Welcome to The Grid, R&T's quick roundup of the auto industry and motorsports news you should know this morning.

Ferrari Quick

On the second to last day of F1 testing, Sebastian Vettel was quickest for Ferrari by more than a second. That's an eternity in racing. That time was set on hypersoft tires and set an unofficial lap record for the track.

Vettel was followed by Kevin Magnussen's Haas, Gasly's Toro Rosso, Hulkenberg and Sainz for Renault, Vandoorne for McLaren, and Ericsson for Sauber. However, most teams were focusing on long runs, with McLaren (yes, McLaren!) running 151 laps. But that was nothing compared to Vettel's 188 laps in the Ferrari.

Hyundai Recall

If you own a 2011 Hyundai Sonata, prepare for a recall. The automaker is recalling 155,000 of the cars because the sat belts might not tighten before a crash or the airbags might fail to deploy.

If your car is recalled, please get it fixed.

Danica's Ride

We're a few days late on the official announcement because of Geneva Motor Show coverage, but Ed Carpenter Racing has officially confirmed that Danica Patrick will be driving its third car in the 2018 Indy 500.

Danica's run at Indy will be her first since 2011, her first in the new generation of turbocharged cars, and the last race of her career. The run will be sponsored by GoDaddy.
