VIDEO: See The Trailer For The New F1 Movie

Just a few days after we learned the name of the Formula 1 movie, which will be subtly titled F1, we are getting a first look at the feature film starring Brad Pitt.

Only hours prior to the start of the British Grand Prix, the first trailer for the movie dropped on social media. In the movie Pitt plays a driver who comes out of retirement to mentor and team with a younger driver. Filming has been taking place at several F1 circuits, including Sunday at Silverstone. No word if Sunday’s winner Lewis Hamilton who is listed as a producer and script consultant on the film had any scenes.

While there have been many movies about the sport in past decades, this latest endeavor hopes, perhaps, to join the lofty legendry heights reached by the 1966 production of Grand Prix starring James Garner and Eva Marie Saint which has gained almost cult status among motorsports fans. Though purposely shooting a car into the water with a hydrogen powered cannon to simulate a crash into the Monaco harbor probably won’t be replicated by Pitt and the crew.

Filming will continue throughout 2024 and the film has a tentative release date in late June of 2025.
