The 2025 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid is what you might call a joint venture, using Toyota's hybrid system from the RAV4.
The CX-50 Hybrid looks almost exactly like nonhybrid trims except for badges and a slightly different front end.
The Hybrid also gets unique wheels, in 17-inch or 19-inch sizes.
Like the RAV4 Hybrid, the CX-50 has an electric motor on the rear axle to deliver all-wheel-drive traction.
The CX-50 is notably more sculpted than its CX-5 stablemate, with wide fenders and a relatively slim cabin.
On our 75-mph highway fuel-economy test, the CX-50 Hybrid delivered 34 mpg.
The CX-50 Hybrid isn't as quick as the 2.5 Turbo model, but it's not terribly far behind, with 60 mph arriving in 7.6 seconds versus 6.4 seconds for the Turbo.
The CX-50 Hybrid's pricing starts at $35,390 for the Preferred trim and runs to $41,470 for the Premium Plus.
