The third generation of the Chevy Traverse three-row SUV is here, and it follows a similar formula but with some new twists. A turbo four-cylinder replaces the old V-6, the RS trim level now comes with standard Super Cruise, and there's a new Z71 off-road trim level.

The new Traverse rides on the same platform as before and has the same wheelbase.

It's still one of the biggest three-row mid-size SUVs you can buy, with a 204.5-inch overall length.

A turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four is the standard engine across the board.

The new engine produces 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque, both numbers that beat the old V-6.

Chevy equips the RS with standard Super Cruise driver-assist technology.

The RS comes with 22-inch wheels and blacked-out trim.

The infotainment screen measures 17.7 inches.

The second- and third-row seats fold flat to expand the cargo space.

There's also an 11.0-inch digital gauge cluster.

The Z71 off-road trim has skid plates, all-terrain tires, and a greater ride height.

It also comes with adaptive dampers and off-road-oriented drive modes.

DETROIT (Reuters) -General Motors CEO Mary Barra sought to soothe shareholder worries that lagging demand for electric vehicles and perceived peak demand for gasoline-powered trucks will create a rough road ahead for the automaker. Barra emphasized at an investor day on Tuesday in Spring Hill, Tennessee, that profit margins have not peaked on traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) powered vehicles, and its EV sales are ramping up, something sources previously told Reuters would be outlined. Hyundai has begun producing electric SUVs in Georgia less than two years after breaking ground on its sprawling, $7.6 billion manufacturing plant west of Savannah. Hyundai's factory in Georgia held an “employee-focused celebration” Thursday as its first EV for commercial sale rolled off the assembly line, Bianca Johnson, spokesperson for Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America, said in a statement provided Monday to The Associated Press. “After validating its production processes to ensure its vehicles meet Hyundai Motor Group’s high quality standards, HMGMA has started initial production of customer vehicles ahead of schedule,” Johnson said.
