The 2026 Kia EV3 might be a couple years away from the U.S., but we took a spin in a Korean production model to see how well this pint-size sibling to the EV9 will fit into the greater EV landscape.
The Kia EV3 is likely to arrive in the U.S. in calendar-year 2026, so, we hope you're patient.
The version we drove in South Korea had a single motor at the front wheels producing 201 horsepower and 209 pound-feet of torque.
Later versions will be able to wield dual-motor all-wheel drive.
The EV3's 400-volt architecture means DC fast-charging maxes out at around 130 kilowatts.
The EV3 can be had with one of two batteries. The larger, and likeliest candidate for the U.S. market, is a 81.4-kWh unit that's good for a WLTP-estimated 370-plus miles, which should result in an EPA figure somewhere around 300 miles.
The EV3's cabin takes many of the EV9's high points and adapts them into a smaller form factor.
One thing that doesn't shrink, though, is the 30 inches of digital real estate comprising the gauge display, climate controls, and infotainment.
There's a decent amount of room in the second row, enough for a six-foot passenger to sit behind a six-foot driver without banging knees into seats.
There is a very small frunk, but it's really only for holding the charging cable. The standard cargo area is still plenty capacious, though.
