Acura debuted this concept car that previews its second EV during Monterey Car Week 2024, and the production SUV will launch toward the end of 2025.
The Performance EV Concept previews Acura's second EV, to be the first vehicle built on Honda's new EV architecture. The company's first EV, the 2024 ZDX, is built by General Motors and shares a platform with the Cadillac Lyriq.
Who knows how real the Performance EV Concept's sloping roofline and 23-inch wheels will turn out to be. But design boss Dave Marek says that the design themes from this concept will be present on future Acuras.
The production version of this electric SUV will launch in late 2025 and will be built in Ohio at Honda's new EV hub, part of a $700 million investment to overhaul its Marysville, East Liberty, and Anna facilities to produce EVs.
Acura says that all of its future electrified vehicles will spell out A-C-U-R-A like this on their rear ends.
