While the C30 hatchback and C70 convertible offer variety and excitement to Volvo's lineup, the S80 has stayed decidedly simple. Offered with 240 horsepower 3.2-liter naturally aspirated or 300 horsepower 3.0-liter turbocharged 6-cylinder engines the S80 offers decent, but not overwhelming power. The T6 powers Volvo's electronically controlled all-wheel drive with instant traction, though it's more for safety in slippery conditions than performance on this platform. The S80 comes standard with Volvo's usual suite of safety innovations like dual-stage airbags, whiplash protection system and City Safety; the support system that automatically applies brakes when needed to avoid a collision in slow moving traffic. Elegant sweeping lines that compose the modest exterior carry inside to the minimalist interior finished with perforated leather and walnut trim pieces confirming this is Volvo's flagship sedan. Available heated front and rear seats and even heated windshield fluid nozzles make for a warm retreat should owners explore the Scandinavian heritage of their Swedish made sedan. All these features add up to perfectly pleasant and comfortable luxury sedan, but it wouldn't hurt for Volvo to take some of the spice they've used on the rest of the lineup and sprinkle it on the S80. Pros Cons
Very comfortable interior and ride The way you have to push buttons to move from radio to navigation
Driver/ passenger seats - great comfort for long drives Displays : if navigation or phone is on, can't see what's on radio
Ride is much improved and quieter - no road noise A lot of money for a small car
Safety features: blind spot warning system etc. Interior controls on left below steering wheel are too low
Cruise controll with que assist - wonderful - no need to disconnect cruise in traffic Indicator lights for front & back fog lamp - very poorly designed
Roominess, ease of entry & exit Center console is comfortable but difficult to access
The size & front view is good Car not available in u.s. in red-red should be a color choice
Engine, smooth ride, technology, reliability Gas mileage; power is lacking
Had features & luxury that i wanted at the right price Acceleration - slow for turbo t6
Driving dynamics - handles perfectly in every driving situation. Both stereo and navigation system take a lot of steps
