Look no further than Volvo's XC60 to see how much stock auto companies put into their CUVs. Other than the S60 sport-sedan the XC60 is the only vehicle in Volvo's lineup to offer three power train variations. Those variations happen to be the same offered in the S60; a naturally aspirated 240 horsepower inline-6, and a turbocharged 6-cylinder tuned to 300 or 325 horsepower. Front wheel drive is standard on the base model while the trim's optional all-wheel drive is standard on both turbocharged variants. As basically a raised up S60 station wagon, the XC60 offers a distinct space advantage over its little sedan sibling. With the backseats folded down flat a spacious 67 cu. ft. of cargo fits behind the front captains chairs. The city safety feature that applies the brakes to avoid low-speed collisions also makes its way into the crossover, as that feature is now standard across the entire Volvo line. Available as an option is the trick new Pedestrian Detection with Full Auto Brake, a system that debuted on the S60 in which sensors mounted above the rear-view mirror can detect road obstructions and apply the brakes as needed to avoid accidents. Reviews and Ratings
Overall
Pros Cons
Safety - we buy volvos mainly for their safety ratings Bmw has same kind of engine with better mpg
Vehicle handling: drives like a dream Front lacks storage. we had to pay to have sunglass holders installed!
Comfort as soon as i started test driving, i know this was the car. The infotainment: radio / navigation / telephone is difficult to learn
Driving dynamics - car's overall attitude is excellent No head support for built-in booster seats.
Seats - great comfort & support for long trips. The headlight and body construction create siginificant blind spot
Speed - surprisingly fast with the turbo engine Running board - not wide enough at driver's door for its purpose.
Unique interior and exterior styling Don't like auto dimming rear mirror - too dark
The quiet smooth, luxurious feel. the car makes me feel like a queen! Can't see dash when steering wheel is in low position.
Headlights -xenon, washers, and move when car moves Poor visibility while backing up especially at night
The 2 - piece panoramic sun roof is spectacular Rear seat entry - hard to get feet in & out
