WATCH: Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce get 2023 NFL draft started with Lombardi Trophy

The Kansas City Chiefs won’t be on the clock until later tonight at pick No. 31, but they’ve already made their mark on the 2023 NFL draft.

Before the Carolina Panthers came on the clock at pick No. 1, Chiefs super fans Heidi Gardner and Eric Stonestreet introduced two very special guests. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce came out onto the stage with their brand new Lombardi Trophy to get the Chiefs Kingdom fired up ahead of the draft.

“Chiefs Kingdom can I hear you out there,” Patrick Mahomes yelled.

Kelce joked with the crowd, “Hey are you ready to trade up for the No. 1 pick this year? Go get him (Brett) Veach!”

The Chiefs did expect this would in part be an extension of the team’s Super Bowl LVII parade and that certainly rings true. Chiefs fans and the sea of red are out in force to enjoy the 2023 NFL draft and celebrate.

The two promptly turned over the microphone to Roger Goodell, who managed actually to get the draft festivities started, announcing that the Panthers were officially on the clock.
