You have to start somewhere, including Georgia troopers when it comes to pitting out fleeing suspects. It might seem like they’re all naturals, but in this dashcam footage we have for you today we get to see a Georgia State Patrol cadet run down a fleeing suspect in a Ford Escape and perform one hell of a PIT maneuver.

Watch another Georgia trooper perform a brutal PIT on a fleeing suspect.

As the pursuit starts and throughout it, you get to hear the trainer coach the cadet through every detail. It’s obviously a stressful situation as he does things wrong and receives sharp correction. After all, lives are literally on the line in situations like this and we wouldn’t want troopers to be trained like they’re little snowflakes.

The cadet doesn’t cry or protest as he’s snapped at by the trainer. Instead, he works to do better and not make the same mistake twice. Amazing what a little bit of toughness does for the learning process.

But the suspect doesn’t make the pursuit any easier. While the GSP cruiser is more powerful and faster, the little Ford crossover snakes all over the place, especially after it gets off the freeway. Some of the faking out really throws off the cadet, who gets more sharp correction and coaching about being aggressive and hitting the suspect’s vehicle.

Once the Escape starts going onto the on-ramp for the freeway, the trainer yells at the cadet to stop him before they reach freeway speeds again. The kid takes it to heart and tries a PIT but it’s more like a love tap.

With more verbal encouragement, he goes for it again, only the second time he doesn’t pull his punches. The PIT maneuver is aggressive enough it sends the crossover rolling multiple times out into the lanes of traffic. Thankfully no cars come along and hit the suspect, but that definitely ends the chase.
