In an attempt to keep the suspect from leaving the scene, officers blocked the Bronco in the drive-thru lane with a pair of Dodge police vehicles; a Charger was placed right in front of the Bronco's bumper, and a Durango was parked a bit farther back. But the presence of the vehicles did not deter the suspect, who police have identified as Ramanpreet Singh from Brampton, Ontario.
Despite being surrounded by law enforcement, the driver can be seen on video apparently attempting to escape by using his stolen Ford Bronco to drive over the police vehicles. The footage shows the Bronco pushing the Charger back, then driving over its hood and windshield. Unfortunately for the suspect, however, the Bronco could not clear the Durango, and was forced back into the drive-thru lane.
The suspect was taken into custody after the incident with only minor injuries, according to authorities; he faces charges including flight from a police officer, dangerous operation, obstruct police officer and three counts of possession of property obtained by crime.Authorities say no police or bystanders were injured.
