These Cars Are Better Than Their Twins

Good things come in twos. Peanut butter and jelly, Calvin and Hobbes, pizza and more pizza — you can never have just one. Sometimes, though, one of those good things is just a little bit better than the other. Earlier this week, we asked you for the automotive twins that were better than their siblings, and today we’re combing through your answers. - Amber DaSilva Read More

These Are The Cars You Think Will Disappear From The Road In The Next 10 Years

Every day, cars are disappearing from the road. Sometimes, they’re just not meant to last or technology has passed them by. Regardless of the reason, there are always cars that one day just seemingly vanished into thin air. That thought is what inspired our question from last week. - Andy Kalmowitz Read More

Fun fact: Cars are, more often than not, manufactured by car companies. These companies like to save money, so they’ll often share as many parts as possible between vehicles — interior components, lights, even entire body panels. But when two cars share too much, they start looking suspiciously twinlike. - Amber DaSilva Read More

Asking someone for their top tips for picking up a bargain car is a bit like asking someone for the best flavor of ice cream. We’ve all got different tastes in the same way that we’ve all got different ideas of what constitutes “cheap.” - Owen Bellwood Read More

What Made You End Up With Your Current Daily Driver?

Car people are some of the kindest and most humble people in our society. Oh wait, car people are rotted, self-inflated know-it-alls who refuse to change their preconceived notions regardless of how wrong they are. That being said, every car person who doesn’t have a fully fledged car collection needs a daily driver, and they’re often more mundane than we’d like to admit. There seems to be a shame associated with a car person taking the logical route and running something affordable and reliable yet dull versus something expensive and unreliable yet fun when it’s working right. I don’t agree with this; in fact I think you can still be a car person no matter what you drive and I don’t think it’s very nice to judge someone by their car, since everyone faces different challenges in life. - Logan Carter Read More

These Are The Best Automotive Events Our Readers Have Ever Attended

Part of what we love about automotive enthusiasm is that it takes so many different forms. From the folks who meticulously restore classic cars to those who heavily modify Volkswagen GTIs, drive imported kei trucks, build rock crawlers, and race across the desert, there’s so much more to the greater community than just expensive supercars. And if people are enthusiastic about any type of vehicle, there’s probably a car show, owner’s event or race celebrating it. - Collin Woodard Read More

What’s The Best Automotive Event You’ve Ever Attended?

One of the best things about the automotive community is that there’s something for everyone no matter what you’re interested in. From SEMA to Formula 1 races, to nearby Cars and Coffee and even local events, there are all sorts of experiences to choose from and it’s totally fine if something isn’t for you. I’ve met plenty of people who felt like SEMA was the greatest thing ever, while I would be perfectly happy to have never gone in the first place. Turns out, being stuck in a massive crowd of very slowly moving people is a great way to find out you have undiagnosed anxiety issues. Oops. - Collin Woodard Read More
