While a Whataburger opened in Ozark on New Year's Day, the fast-food chain is also opening more locations in Springfield. On Monday, the first Springfield Whataburger had its soft opening at 3880 W. Sunshine St.
The location will be open 24 hours a day, with service currently limited to drive-thru only. For more information, visit the website for the 3880 W. Sunshine St. Whataburger or call 417-429-0601.
There is also a second Springfield location set for 2355 N. Glenstone Ave. Whataburger press communications has not responded to questions about the Glenstone Avenue location's opening date. On Whataburger's website, a job listing for restaurant team members at the Glenstone Avenue location was published on May 11.
Another location is set for 401 Eastgate Ave., but it is not clear when it will open.
Opening September 2023: McDonald's, 3720 W. Sunshine St.
A new McDonald's location broke ground at Sunshine Street and West Bypass on April 25, with plans to open in September 2023.
The location plans to be "state-of-the-art" and all digital, from menus to signage. It will feature a "compact optimized prep line" conveyor belt, and will be the first McDonalds in Missouri to have such features.
Owner-operator Ryan Blumenthal plans to hire over 100 employees to staff the location.
Opening early 2024: Chick-fil-A, 2355 N. Glenstone Ave.
A new Chick-fil-A location is in the works at 2355 N. Glenstone Ave., and is expected to open in early 2024, according to a statement from Chick-fil-A, Inc.
“While we are still early in the process, Chick-fil-A is happy to share that we are actively pursuing a new restaurant, Chick-fil-A Glenstone & Kearney at 2355 N.
