Just when we thought we’d seen it all when it comes to car theft, a completely crazy story comes out of South Carolina involving a one-legged woman stealing a man’s truck. We have more questions than answers for this story, but let’s get into what we do know first.
Parents sentenced in court for son’s fatal car crash.
According to local news station WSPA, back on July 26 a man at a gas station called the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office after someone stole his truck while he was inside getting a drink. He saw the one-legged woman who was sitting outside take his pickup while he was waiting in line to pay.
The first question we have is how the woman with one leg was that fast? She had crutches but come on, did she really move that quickly? Then we want to know how she got the truck started. Did the guy leave his keys in it? We don’t know, but we think it would be interesting to have that information.
The truck owner did run outside and tried to stop the woman, but she drove off and hit him with his own vehicle. Talk about adding injury to insult.
Deputies started looking for the one-legged woman when police in Duncan said they had captured her at a Chick-Fil-A after the truck broke down in the parking lot. She was caught with a bag that allegedly contained drugs.
Now here’s where the story gets really interesting: the one-legged woman told deputies a guy named “Bobo” said the truck was his and that she could just take it. Criminals make up strange stories like that all the time, but we want to know if deputies kept a straight face while this woman spun the tale, because it sounds like a real whopper.
We don’t know how the woman took the pickup, but we do know this is a great time to remind people to not leave their vehicle running unattended and to not leave your keys inside, including in a newer ride with push-button ignition.
