Hockenheim, the racetrack set to hold the German Grand Prix for Formula One next year, was unable to secure a deal with the sanctioning body for the upcoming 2017 season, according to BBC Sport. This is the second year in a row there will be no F1 race in Germany, following the Nürburgring Grand Prix's cancellation last year.

The FIA confirmed the upcoming Formula 1 schedule, which lists 20 races in total, with Germany nowhere to be found.

The only other unconfirmed stop on the calendar is Brazil, according to F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone.

"The only question mark really is Brazil," he said. "We're getting that sorted out. I hope it will be sorted."

Fox Sports reports Ecclestone still hasn't managed to secure a formal, signed agreement with officials regarding the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, despite statements telling the public a deal was struck. When he was asked about the future of F1 at the historic track, Ecclestone said this:

"No, not at all. I don't think it's anything to worry about," he said.
