2025 Infiniti QX60 Replaces V-6 with Torquier Turbo Four-Cylinder
For 2025, the Infiniti QX60 gains a new powertrain—the VC-Turbo engine that we first saw in the QX50.
The turbocharged four-cylinder makes 268 horsepower, or 27 fewer ponies than the old 295-hp V-6.
Along with the promise of better fuel economy, the QX60's new engine packs 286 pound-feet of torque, which is a 16 pound-foot improvement
Infiniti launched the second generation of its QX60 mid-size SUV for 2022 with svelte bodywork and a well-appointed cabin. While there are no major styling changes for 2025, Infiniti's three-row crossover is getting a host of upgrades, most notably swapping out the previous 295-hp 3.5-liter V-6 for the VC-Turbo engine that first appeared in the smaller QX50 for the 2019 model year.
The VC-Turbo is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that uses a variable-compression-ratio system that is supposed to deliver improved fuel economy without detracting from performance. The inline-four pumps out 268 horsepower and 286 pound-feet of torque, 27 fewer horsepower but 16 more pound-feet than the outgoing V-6. Front-wheel drive comes standard, but all-wheel drive remains optional on all but the QX60's top-of-the-line Autograph trim. All models use a nine-speed automatic transmission.
The 2025 QX60 also gains a Black Edition package that is offered for the Luxe trim for an extra $1900. As the name suggests, the package adds gloss black trim on the roof rails, grille surround, and exterior badging. It includes a set of black 20-inch wheels too. The Infiniti logo in the grille is illuminated, as are the kick plates in the doors. Shoppers can chose one of three colors: Mineral Black, Majestic White, or a new hue called Harbor Gray. The only change inside is a black headliner.
The QX60's Luxe trim also gains a standard 17-speaker Bose sound system. Other changes for 2025 include a new key fob design that can automatically lock or unlock the vehicle when the driver walks towards or away from the vehicle.
When the 2025 QX60 reaches dealerships this month, the base Pure trim will start at $51,550 (up $550 from last year). Adding all-wheel drive will tack on an extra $2000. The Luxe trim now costs $58,150 (an $1100 jump), while the Sensory is only up $50 to $60,450. The pinnacle of the QX60 lineup is the Autograph trim, which starts at $67,500.
