With a base price of $325,000 and an application process for the right to purchase, the Ford Mustang GTD is already an exclusive car. However, in case that's not enough for some potential owners, Ford will give buyers the opportunity to make each GTD a one-of-a-kind build, thanks to the optional Extended Color Palette and Exclusive Extended Color Palette Lock-Out programs.

To showcase these new plans, Ford brought a 2025 Mustang GTD painted in “Indulgent Blue” to the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This beautiful shade of blue is a new color for the Mustang, and it's one of thousands of choices that will be available as part of the Extended Color Palette system.

Here's how it works: if you're not satisfied with any of the six standard exterior colors offered, you can share any color you like with the Mustang GTD Concierge team, whp will attempt to find the closest color match to your sample from their thousands-deep catalog. You'll then be sent a paint sample before the car goes to production, to ensure you're happy with the choice.

This is a level of color customization typically reserved for buyers of exotic brands, such as Porsche or Ferrari. Of course, the Mustang GTD is not your typical Ford, and it's likely many GTD buyers already have a Ferrari and a Porsche in their garage, so many buyers will be used to being offered this level of customization.

But Ford takes the color choices a step further. The Blue Oval will also offer an Exclusive Extended Color Palette Lock-Out option; select it, and Ford will ensure no other Mustang GTD owner can select the same shade as you.

Pricing hasn't been announced for the Extended Color Palette and Exclusive Extended Color Palette Lock-Out options as of yet. That said, if you're already set to spend $325,000 on a Mustang, the cost of having your dream color probably won't matter much.
