Kyle Larson’s Wife Katelyn Knocks Back Beer after His Win At NASCAR's All-Star Race

Kyle Larson’s Wife Katelyn Knocks Back Beer after His Win At NASCAR's All-Star Race

Kyle Larson may have taken home the top prize in North Wilkesboro Speedway’s first NASCAR Cup Series race in three decades, but all eyes were on his wife Katelyn Sunday as she showed some impressive skills that would melt the hearts of swooning college frat boys around the country.

After obliterating the field with the next-nearest competitors Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick rolling across the finish lane more than 4.5 seconds later, Larson cruised his No. 5 Chevrolet Camaro down Victory Lane. But as the crowd cheered him on during his post-race tire burn out, the 30-year-old Elk Grove, California native may have confused the crowd’s enthusiastic roars as being for him, and why wouldn’t he? After all, his dominant win at North Carolina’s fabled track — one that was spawned from moonshine bootleggers-turned-stock car heroes — marks Larson’s third time winning the Cup Series’ coveted All-Star race. Still, the real show was just beginning.

How did Katelyn Larson celebrate her husband’s historic win at North Wilkesboro Speedway?

Clad in her version of a summertime Canadian tuxedo, denim advocate Katelyn Larson strolled out with a silver can of Coors Light. As fireworks bathed the night sky in a myriad of vibrant hues to celebrate her husband’s monumental win — one that earned Yung Money a cool $1 million in prize money — she tapped the Rockies and downed the golden hops in the blink of an eye.

The reaction from the Hendrick Motorsports wheelman was priceless as she excitedly flung the last remaining drops up into the air, earning an additional wave of applause from the rowdy crowd.

Is this a new way of celebrating for Katelyn Larson?

For the uninitiated, guzzling a can of liquid gold in under eight seconds isn’t something anyone can do on the fly. Not only does it take skill, downing beer in such dramatic fashion also is something that requires a little bit more practice than doing it once every blue moon. Just ask Tom Brady about slurping suds — it’s an acquired talent but a revered one in the realm of sporting events. Luckily for Katelyn, she’s gotten a few more reps in than most thanks to No. 5 motoring his way to 21 Cup Series wins.

“(It) got started probably a couple of years ago on a family vacation with Clint Boyer challenging Dale [Earnhardt] Jr. shotgunning a beer or something,” Katelyn told USA Insider last year. “I just kind of started celebrating like that in Victory Lane whenever he won.”

What does Kyle Larson think about Katelyn’s beer-chugging celebratory tradition?

If the smile beaming from Larson’s face as Katelyn chugged the beer after his victory at North Wilkesboro wasn’t evident enough, he couldn’t be happier to have his wife exuberantly celebrating his career highlights by his side. Katelyn’s championship-winning husband said her eye-catching celebration revs up the crowd more than he could ever do.

“The fans, I mean, they would cheer louder for her than me,” Larson said in the NOS Energy-sponsored documentary series, “DIRT: The Last Great American Sport,” according to Essentially Sports.. “Now, every race that I go to, every dirt race especially, I have multiple fans coming with me like, ‘Where’s Katelyn? I’m gonna shotgun a beer with her later.’”

Who Is Kyle Larson's Wife? Everything To Know About Katelyn Sweet

Larson’s 2023 season is quickly shaping up to be a banner year for the Hendrick Motorsports driver. Racing his way to two wins to compliment his five top-five finishes, Larson sits at ninth place in the standings with 363 points — just 66 points back from the league-leading Ross Chastain, whom Larson has had multiple dustups with this season.

That said, as long as Larson continues to drive like a man on a mission this season, notching win after win, the hops and barley will continue to flow for Katelyn.

“Shotgun Sweetie is what they started calling me,” offered Katelyn in the documentary. “Sweet is my maiden name so that’s kind of how it started.”

And how sweet the taste of victory is.
