Mercedes Repo Literally Goes Sideways
Mercedes Repo Literally Goes Sideways

We’ve seen car repos go sideways in the figurative sense, but this one out of Conyers, Georgia did it literally. A debtor trying to escape the repo man instead ended up rolling his Mercedes SUV, defeating his entire purpose.

Watch a woman try running the repo man off the road.

It happened in front of a title pawn shop with someone inside filming everything on their phone. The debtor was inside the store trying to secure a loan, but when he saw the rollback block his vehicle in the parking spot, he ran out, climbed inside, and fired up the engine, reports Atlanta News First.

We’re not sure what plan the guy had. He was obviously trapped with nowhere to do. He couldn’t even drive up onto the sidewalk since a brick pillar was blocking his moving forward. In a situation like this, your only wise play is to hand over the keys and deal with the bank.

But the driver was probably in full lizard brain, acting without thinking. As the tow truck driver talks to him through the open front passenger door, the debtor throws the Mercedes into reverse, cranks the wheel, and hits the accelerator.

With the door pushing him, the tow truck driver had only one choice, jump inside the Mercedes. Had he not, he could’ve been seriously injured or worse.

As for the debtor, he seems to have a poor grasp on physics. As the luxury SUV drove up the tow truck’s bed, the rear passenger-side wheel hung off. Then the whole vehicle rolled all the way onto its roof.

Not only did the vehicle still end up getting repossessed, its value was diminished greatly. He could’ve worked something out with the bank, but with the vehicle damaged he might be in a bigger financial pinch than before.

Even though having your car repossessed is awful, fighting with the repo man and damaging, possibly totaling, the vehicle is far worse.
