For some reason Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers, and other muscle cars run into buildings fairly often. Many times they’re smashing into houses, leaving families looking for somewhere to stay while the damage is repaired. It happened again, this time in Eagle, Idaho.

A classic Camaro driver does a hit and run.

As you can see by photos provided by Eagle Police, an S550 Mustang GT didn’t just hit a house, it crashed right through the exterior brick wall and ended up full inside, doing a little bit of interior decorating, too.

How exactly the driver ended up sending it through the house wasn’t made clear by police. We’re guessing someone isn’t exactly a great driver and was either trying to show off or just have a little fun, quickly outstripping his driving abilities.

When police arrived on the scene, they found the driver had run off but a male juvenile who was a passenger in the pony car remained at the house, having suffered minor injuries. Thankfully nobody was inside the house when the crash happened or there might have been injuries or worse.

Officers searched the Ford Mustang GT and found a loaded firearm by the driver’s seat. Could that be why the driver didn’t stick around? Or maybe he wasn’t supposed to be in the muscle car?

Police were able to track down 27-year-old Matthew Jeffs, who lives in Emmett. He only made it half a mile on foot. Either he’s incredibly slow at walking or his minor injuries from the crash slowed him down.

A clue about why Jeffs crashed is possibly embedded in his list of charges: felony injury to child, misdemeanor driving under the influence, misdemeanor leaving the scene of an accident, and misdemeanor carrying concealed weapons under the influence of alcohol. Notice two of them mention being under the influence. Don’t drink and drive is the big lesson here.
