Road rage has become quite the issue in the past several years. It’s been a concern for a lot longer, but with more people running dashcams, combined with social media access, we now see road rage fights as they unfold on video. One of the latest comes from a Tesla Model 3 driver who had a 360-degree camera mounted to the back window of his EV.

Road rage incident unfolds in a school zone.

The incident happened in Florida and was between some guys in a Nissan Frontier towing a trailer and the Tesla driver. Supposedly, it started when the other group felt the electric car cut them off while it transitioned lanes.

But the lane chance we see in the video footage looks benign. We know some people think anyone getting in their lane even a hundred feet ahead of them is cutting them off, for whatever reason, so we have to wonder if that’s the case here.

We also know people who when they see a nicer car try to find fault with anything the driver does. That likely is driven by envy. Then you have all the controversy surrounding EVs and Tesla being the poster boy of the movement, adding another layer of emotion into these types of interactions.

After the Model 3 passes the pickup, the other guys follow and at points get fairly close, although the narrator makes it sound like they were tailgating big time. Honestly, we’re exposed to worse all the time.

It gets to the point where the Tesla driver decides to slow down, let the truck pass, then get a capture of their license plate. Perhaps sensing that’s what he’s about to do, or maybe seeing a chance to finally attack the EV, the other guys stop the Nissan, get out, and make their move.

One appears to hit the windshield with his hand. There’s no way he would really hurt the glass without also hurting himself.

Then the Tesla driver takes off, the Nissan in hot pursuit for a few miles after. Finally, the other guys give up.

Everyone’s going to have their own take about what happened. Some will blame the guys in the truck, others the Tesla driver. And some will think both parties acted dumb in the situation. We’re curious who you think is at fault and why.
