Modifying cars is a lot of fun, even on daily drivers, but as this car YouTuber found out with a supercharged NSX, sometimes it leads to disaster. While recording footage on the highway, talking about modifications done and future ones planned, the online content creator watched smoke and flames rapidly shoot out of the engine compartment.

Watch a soldier mock an influencer’s car review.

That’s what we call a Code Brown Moment. Watch the video and you can see there’s zero indication of any smoke, then a huge wave of it billows out of the engine compartment followed immediately by aggressive flames licking out.

In other words, the YouTuber was caught completely off guard. We assume the engine temperature on the dash stayed at a normal operational level as well. This was just a freak accident that could catch anyone off guard.

Instead of panicking and crashing, which some people would do in this situation, the YouTuber keeps cool, slows down, and gets the Acura supercar to the shoulder before parking and getting out quickly, grabbing the camera on the way.

Before, as the NSX is still driving down the road, you can hear grinding and other sounds. If we had to guess, we’d say oil was gushing out from somewhere.

We see from the camera in hand at odd angles the back end of the Acura NSX is rapidly becoming engulfed in flames, which spread rapidly to the rest of the vehicle. And just like that, all the work with supercharging and such, plus the dreams of future mods, literally go up in smoke. It’s a sad ending to what seemed to be an interesting build.

Some are saying an onboard fire extinguisher would’ve prevented the loss of the NSX but seeing those flames and how quickly they spread, we disagree. That’s not to say having an onboard extinguisher is worthless, just that sometimes the only practical thing is to get out of the vehicle and be grateful you’re still alive.
