Pontiac’s shovel-nosed alternate history: Flickr photo of the day

Every decade spawns a few guys who think they can break into the coachbuilding business — taking plain cars and giving them fresh bodies that transform them into luxury carriages. This was the rare Detroit-bred example, caught by Bill Jacomet. Dubbed the Farago CF 428, the car was a one-off created by a Chrysler engineer who used the underpinnings of a 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix to imagine a more suave, Italian-influenced luxury ride.
