2013-2016 Cadillac ATS Sedan Recalled Again For Sunroof Problem: Over 82,000 Vehicles Affected

Cadillac ATS owners, we have some bad news.

Remember in February, when we told you that the ATS sedan was being recalled because of problems with the sunroof switch? According to Auto News, the ATS is being recalled again for the same problem. It appears that the fix initially offered by Cadillac -- the addition of a trim plate to protect the sunroof switch -- was insufficient to address the problem. So, even if you've done the responsible thing and had your car repaired, you'll need to make a trip to the dealership.

Worse, the recall has widened to include 2016 models. Cadillac's parent company, General Motors, says that 82,620 Cadillac ATS models are affected by the recall. Of that number, 63,665 are registered in the U.S., with the remainder in Canada, Mexico, and elsewhere.

GM has also issued a stop-sale on ATS sedans until they've been repaired. The stop-sale order affects roughly 7,000 vehicles at dealerships across the country.
