2015 Dodge Overview
Chrysler Group recently announced plans to make Dodge the company's performance brand, and if the 2015 model year is any indication, this is more than just marketing hype. Case in point: the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, two models equipped with a new supercharged Hemi engine and the chassis components to back it up. There are styling and other equipment upgrades, including a new 8-speed automatic transmission, but the attention grabber is certainly that 707-horsepower V-8 engine.
The smaller Dart sedan returns for 2015, with changes focused primarily on option pricing and the availability of an updated infotainment system. Dropped from the 2015 lineup is the midsize Dodge Avenger sedan. Similar to the Dart, the 2015 Dodge Durango and Grand Caravan models debut with minor equipment updates, while the Journey crossover adds a Crossroad trim level.
And, lest we forget, the scary-fast Dodge Viper tops off the Dodge lineup with a new GT trim level, slight bump in power, revised color palette, and a couple of additional option packages.
One word best describes the 2015 Dodge Challenger: extreme. Interior and exterior styling has been tweaked across all trim levels, but the real news resides under the hood, where last year's SRT 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 now powers cars equipped with new R/T Scat Pack and 392 Scat Pack Shaker option packages. That engine, which has been massaged to deliver 485 horsepower and 475 lb.-ft. of torque, is accompanied by upgrades such as 20-in. alloy wheels, high-performance brakes, and a functional shaker hood. Buyers have their choice of a 6-speed manual or new 8-speed automatic transmission. Other upgrades include an 8.4-in. touch-screen infotainment system, available intelligent cruise control and blind-spot monitoring system, launch control, and an electric power steering setup with driver-selectable steering modes.
As for the SRT, it continues to be offered with the 6.4-liter Hemi, as well as a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V-8 that's featured on a new Hellcat model and produces 707 horsepower. A red key fob unlocks the engine's full potential, whereas a black fob limits output.

Like the Challenger SRT, the 2015 Dodge Charger SRT is available in a Hellcat edition equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V-8 engine. A new 8-speed automatic transmission is also on the menu for all Chargers, along with a customizable gauge cluster, smartphone-linked remote start, Wi-Fi connectivity, lane-departure warning and rear park-assist systems, and an updated 8.4-in. touch-screen infotainment system. Dodge revised the styling for 2015, too.
In addition to the SRT, the 2015 Charger can be had in SE, SXT, R/T, and R/T Road & Track trim levels, with rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). A 292-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine is standard.

Responsible for playing the role of small sedan in Dodge's lineup, the stylish and fairly sporty Dart returns for 2015 with lower emissions from its available 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine and a lower price for the base SE's Convenience package, which includes air conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a USB port.

Dodge has placed a lot of emphasis on its 2015 Challenger and Charger models, but relatively little on some other members of its lineup, including the 2015 Durango. Updates are primarily limited to the broadened availability of the Rallye Appearance (now offered on SXT and Limited trim levels) and Blacktop (offered on SXT, Limited, and R/T Durangos) packages. Those options are joined by a Beats by Dr. Dre premium sound system that's standard on the sporty R/T and available on the 2015 Durango Citadel and Limited versions.
Providing seating for up to 7 occupants, the 2015 Dodge Durango can be configured as a RWD or AWD SUV powered by a 3.6-liter V-6 or 5.7-liter Hemi V-8.

One of the original minivans, the Dodge Grand Caravan has been essentially carried over from the 2014 model year. For 2015, this family-friendly front-wheel-drive (FWD) people and cargo hauler debuts new SE Plus and SXT Plus packages, which are essentially last year's 30th Anniversary Edition packages minus the special badging on the gauge cluster, key fob, and fender.

Aside from a couple of new colors and a longer complimentary subscription for SiriusXM travel and traffic information, the biggest news coming out of the 2015 Dodge Journey garage is the introduction of a Crossroad trim level, which is positioned between the well-equipped SXT and the more upscale Limited. Among the Crossroad's features are leather upholstery with mesh inserts, 19-in. black alloy wheels, unique exterior chrome details, and tinted headlights and taillights.
Available as a FWD or AWD crossover, the 2015 Journey continues to be powered by a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine or a 3.6-liter V-6.

Crossroad trim level
Considered one of America's supercars, the Dodge Viper adds a new GT version that slots in between the base and GTS trim levels. Standard equipment includes a GTS clamshell hood, Nappa leather and Alcantara interior trim, 2-mode suspension system, 5-mode stability control system, and the same 8.4-liter V-10 engine shared with the other variants. That engine, by the way, now boasts 645 horsepower and, according to Dodge, can average up to 20 mpg on the highway.
The 2015 Dodge Viper also offers a new GTS Ceramic Blue Edition package comprised of Ceramic Blue paint, satin black exterior trim with chrome black alloy wheels, and carbon fiber interior accents. A Viper TA 2.0 Special Edition package features extensive carbon fiber exterior enhancements, the 2-mode suspension, lightweight wheels, and much more.
