2023 Cadillac Escalade-V Revealed

The 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V high-performance SUV has the most powerful street-legal production internal-combustion engine that General Motors has yet produced. It's a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that's closely related to the engine in the CT5-V Blackwing. But output has increased to 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque. Power goes through a retuned 10-speed automatic transmission to a full-time all-wheel-drive system (rather than two- or four-wheel-drive like the regular Escalade). Cadillac says it will get to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and finish the quarter-mile in 12.74 seconds. It comes with six-piston Brembo front brakes and standard magnetic ride control with adjustable air springs. It's also lavished with a luxurious interior from the top-spec Platinum trim level. Capability remains high, too, with 7,000 pounds of towing capacity, and the option of either the regular wheelbase Escalade or long-wheelbase ESV. Super Cruise will be available later as an option with automatic lane-change and towing abilities. The SUV starts at $149,990.
