Yahoo Autos Evernham, Kauffman acquire rights to IROC brand
Former NASCAR team owners Ray Evernham and Rob Kauffman have acquired the rights to the IROC brand.
The new venture, IROC Holdings LLC, will be based in Mooresville, North Carolina, and “plans to bring the historic brand back to life.” There is the intent to run a vintage type race before the end of the year.
From 1973 to 2006 IROC, otherwise known as the International Race of Champions, was a series of races with identical race cars prepared by a single team of mechanics in order to make it a competition of driver skill.
