This Massive Treasure Trove of Barn-Find Ferraris Can Be Yours

A "barn find" collection of vintage Ferrari road and race cars is set to be auctioned off with no reserve during Monterey Car Week in August. We can't decide which one we want most.

The 20 cars in question have been sitting in a warehouse for nearly two decades in Speedway, Indiana, across the street from the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

According to RM Sotheby's, the auction house behind the sale, the cars were relocated to Indiana in 2004 after Hurricane Charley destroyed the Florida barn where they were sitting since 1990. After the relocation, the cars were left untouched, some still showing the damage they suffered during the hurricane.

There are some heavy hitters among the collection. My personal favorite is the Luigi Chinetti-entered Ferrari 512 BB Competizione that raced in the 1978 24 Hours of Le Mans, one of just three factory-built examples. Another highlight is the crumbled shell of a 1954 Ferrari 500 Mondial Spider Series I by Pininfarina that competed in the 1954 Mille Miglia and the 1956 Targa Florio. There's also a 1956 Ferrari 250 GT Coupe Speciale by Pininfarina, one of just four built with the distinctive Superamerica-style bodywork.
