Mitch Evans became the ABB FIA Formula E season's second two-time winner with a victory Saturday in the first race of a Berlin E-Prix weekend doubleheader.

Evans shared the podium with Jaguar TCS Racing teammate Sam Bird, as the two notched Jaguar's first 1-2 finish in the series. Maxillan Gunther of Maserati MSG Racing completed the podium in third.

The 43-lap race, which featured 190 overtakes and a series record 23 at-the-line lead changes, was the seventh in the 16-race Formula E season.

Evans started ninth on the grid and made it all the way to the top step on the podium for the second consecutive race.

“The last race (in Brazil) was special having us both on the podium and also with Nick (Cassidy)—all Jaguar powertrains—on the podium. At this one, it’s extra special because it’s a 1-2 for the team and a really hard race to manage. It got a bit chaotic out there. I wasn’t expecting a victory in this place. This place has haunted me for many years. So super happy to get a second win, but here it was unexpected.
