Yahoo Autos See the Safari-Style Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato Chuck Sand In New Teaser
Just days after new footage captured the Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato driving around the company's Sant'Agata factory, the automaker has now unveiled yet another new teaser clip for the safari-style supercar. Titled “Beyond The Concrete – Part 2”, the clip gives us yet another taste of what this lifted Lambo might actually be like when the pavement gets left behind.
The teaser opens with a quick panning shot of the ocean, which is quickly followed by the howling tones of the familiar 5.2-liter V-10 engine that powers the upcoming Huracán Sterrato. The short video then gives us a look at the supercar moving at speed, now wearing a coat of blue-colored camouflage for the first time. While the new hue might tie in nicely with the oceanic theme of the clip, it does very little in the way of disrupting our view of the car’s design. This particular prototype retains the bodykit we’ve seen on various other Sterrato models, but it picks up a few unique touches as well. Take the oh-so tiny roof rack for example, as well as the unique black-painted wheels. Combined with the reworked intake and obligatory rally lights, the Sterrato certainly looks the part even when sitting still. Thankfully for us, the car engages in quite a bit of on-the-move action in this new clip.
We quickly come to learn that the Sterrato is being wheeled by a female protagonist, who receives a call inviting her to join a friend for some windsurfing. Our driver quickly acknowledges that she’s on the way, before turning the Lamborghini off the pavement to start driving through what appears to be some sort of vineyard. The Lambo then slides and swings its way through some of the loose earth, mirroring the actions taken by our star’s surfing compatriot. The terrain featured in the clip would certainly not be kind to a traditional Huracán, but the Sterrato appears more than capable of handling a few large bumps. Lamborghini has yet to confirm whether or not the Sterrato will retain its all-wheel drive system, but the car clearly has no problem getting tail happy on loose surfaces. Of course it can't hurt to have a powerful V-10 mounted mid-ship as far as breaking traction is concerned.
Lamborghini has yet to announce when we can expect the Huracán Sterrato to arrive, though a December debut of the production model has been expected for some time. Either way, we won’t have to wait much longer to learn exactly how Lamborghini created this rally-inspired supercar. That’s a great thing, as the Sterrato has to be one of the most intriguing offerings to come from Sant'Agata in recent memory.
