Van der Zande profiled in first ‘IMSA Drivers Stories’ episode

The first IMSA/NASCAR Productions ‘IMSA Drivers Stories’ has been released, chronicling Renger van der Zande’s sports car journey as he enters his 11th full season of IMSA competition.

“The Flying Dutchman” episode recounts how van der Zande got back into racing after a year off and focuses on his motivations as a driver in the context of the 2023 season, his third year partnering with Sebastien Bourdais in the No. 01 Cadillac fielded by Chip Ganassi Racing, and the first year of GTP competition with the V-Series.R LMDh car.

After a third-place championship finish the year prior, the 2023 season was a tough one for the duo, with several DNFs and a seventh-place finish in the championship. Highlights were a victory at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and a second-place finish at Motul Petit Le Mans, two finishes that helped propel Cadillac to the manufacturers title in both the full-season championship as well as the Michelin Endurance Cup.

Bourdais will once again be his full-season partner in the No. 01 V-Series.R, with Scott Dixon the third driver for the five Michelin Endurance Cup events. Chip Ganassi Racing IndyCar driver Alex Palou will join the team for the Rolex 24 At Daytona, which begins with the Roar Before the 24 on Jan. 19.
