  • Ken Block and his Hoonigan team went to Mexico City to show off Block’s driving prowess and the Audi S1 Hoonitron.

  • Block passed away on January 2, 2023, after a snowmobile accident.

  • The Audi S1 Hoonitron is an all-electric, Audi Sport Quattro-inspired tire shredder with 670 hp from a pair of motor generator units.

Adding to his lengthy body of work, Hoonigan released a follow-up to Ken Block’s Electrikhana series. Wisely named Electrikhana 2, the posthumous release takes Block, his Hoonigan team, and the Audi S1 e-tron quattro Hoonitron to Mexico City.

Starting his journey around Mexico City in the Plaza de Toros Mexico, which is apparently the world’s largest bullring, you can follow Block and his Audi around some of Mexico City’s iconic landmarks. There’s no shortage of handbrake turns and tire smoke along the way.

Like the first Electrikhana, the lack of engine noise is interesting. Sure, Block’s turbocharged Hoonicorn was a marvel to witness, but the whirring of electric motors is still fun. You can also more easily hear Block’s throttle inputs as he’s performing stunts.

As with any of Block’s videos, it’s fun to watch. However, the montage during the credits is arguably just as entertaining, if not bittersweet. No spoilers, you can watch it above yourself.
