Even a reproduction Ford GT40 is a special car, something most enthusiasts would treat with extreme care. However, a dad in New Zealand decided hot dogging it in his $250,000 GT40 was a good idea, and then he crashed. It was all to impress his 16-year-old daughter’s new boyfriend and we can’t think of a dumber reason than that. Oh, and this isn’t the first time this guy has been cited for doing something dangerous and stupid while behind the wheel of a car, so there’s a history.

According to witnesses, the father of four children was driving recklessly, weaving through traffic while pushing the Ford GT40 to its limits and beyond. While swerving into the slow lane to overtake a ute, he lost control and hit the median barrier.
