Mopar’s winged warriors from the high era of the muscle car remain some of the most sought-after vehicles to ever leave Detroit. Thanks to the folks at Mecum Auctions and collector Kevin Sergent, buyers will have a chance to fight over 11 different winged cars during the Kissimmee 2024 auction.

Sergent has been collecting Mopars for over 40 years, resulting in a garage full of some of the coolest A, B, and E Bodies around. These include everything from a pair of Challenger convertibles, a Hemi Road Runner, an AAR Cuda, and a Dart GTS. Of course, the real highlight of Sergent Stables in Indiana, Pennsylvania are the winged cars. Ten of those cars are Plymouth Superbirds, complete in a wide range of high-impact colors from that era. The most vibrant of the bunch is certainly the Moulin Rouge example, even if it wasn’t its original factory color. The Hemi Superbird also looks like a showstopper, even if this particular example has been extensively modified.

Sergent also owns a single Dodge Charger Daytona, which is finished in the iconic EV2 Hemi Orange hue. Under the hood of that car sits a numbers-matching 440 cubic-inch V-8 engine, which comes mated to an automatic gearbox. A total of 1935 Plymouth Superbirds were built during its one-year production run, whereas just over 500 Charger Daytonas were constructed and sold. Despite the less-than-ideal spec, expect the Daytona to be the real money-bringer.

All 11 of the winged cars, as well as 14 other Mopars from the Sergent collection, will cross the block at Mecum’s Kissimmee auction on January 12. It’ll provide collectors the closest thing to walking into a Dodge or Plymouth showroom back in 1970, with plenty of different specs and colors to choose from. You can take a quick tour through part of the collection with Sergent and the lovely Chris Jacobs in the video here.
