The 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Is Rolling Hyperbole

From Road & Track

The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 was a car no one really needed. But in 2013, Ford introduced this ultimate flagship Mustang to America, and we fell in love. With a 662-horsepower supercharged V8, the car is a rolling representation of the American attitude of excess. Mr. Regular even goes as far to say that it's "the AR-15 of cars" in his latest for Regular Car Reviews.

The 2013 Shelby GT500 was intended to be the last hurrah for Carroll Shelby, who passed away in 2012. He was hugely influential in the direction of the highest-performance Mustangs, and Ford's flagship pony car still bears the Shelby name. The final Mustang developed with Shelby's input had to be over-the-top, and the 2013 GT500 delivered with a 202-mph top speed.
