2016 Honda Civic recalled to fix lighting flaw
Honda is recalling the 2016 Honda Civic Coupe to repair a potential lighting problem. The recall affects nearly 12,000 vehicles registered in the U.S.
The recall stems from an issue with the rear side marker lights. According to Honda, some of the circuit boards that control those LED lights may have been damaged when they were shipped from the supplier to Honda. Depending on the severity of that damage, the lights might not work at all, which could make the cars harder to see in low-light conditions and increase the risk of collisions. Thankfully, Honda has received no reports of accidents or injuries from owners.

The recall affects a total of 11,846 American vehicles. In early September, Honda will mail notices to the owners of those vehicles, asking them to make service appointments with their local dealerships. Dealers will inspect the Civic's rear side marker lights to ensure that they work properly, and if they don't, the rear light assembly will be replaced at no charge.
