Yahoo Autos 2018 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Starts at $85,900
With their sub-$70,000 base prices, the Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcat are incredible bargains for the ridiculous power they offer. If you want a new car with more horsepower that isn't a Demon, you'll need a Ferrari 812 Superfast, which has a $300,000-plus base price. The Hellcat-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will cost around $20,000 more than the Charger and Challenger, but it's still a good value.
After all, the Trackhawk is the most powerful SUV you can buy today thanks to its 707-hp supercharged V8. The two trucks that come closest - the 621-hp Mercedes-AMG G65 and 600-hp Bentley Bentayga - cost over $200,000. Jeep also says the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is the quickest SUV ever too, boasting a 3.5-second 0-60 mph time, and an 11.6-second quarter-mile.
The Trackhawk offers a 180-mph top speed and Brembo brakes that haul it down from 60 mph in 114 feet. Jeep also fit the Trackhawk with its own four-wheel drive system that can send a majority of the engines power to the rear axle. Oh, and the Trackhawk will tow 7200 lb too.
The Trackhawk's $85,900 MSRP doesn't include a $1095 destination charge, and since the EPA hasn't done fuel-economy testing for it yet, it's unknown whether it'll have a Gas-Guzzler tax.
Order books for the 2018 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk open up this Thursday, August 10th, so get to your Jeep dealer if you want one. While it might have an $85,900 base price, we suspect dealers won't be able to resist applying markups to the Trackhawk, just like the Hellcat before it.
